HELLO!

>> Thursday, April 30, 2009

Things have been so super hectic around the MV HQ's this week, but are finally starting to settle. We moved our studios early last week and later I moved into a new home for the Summer. I took 5 whole days off to do the deed and didn't have internet access for awhile, but I'm back in action now and ready for some serious unpacking/nesting.

As for business related stuff - all pending shipments will be ready to go by the end of the weekend & a round of new vintage treats will be listed in the shop Monday night. Stay tuned for a sneak peek soon (photos are already in the process of editing).

For now, it's time to put on some records, get to organizing and make this space a home! One source of inspiration I always turn to in these transitional times...

EARTH DAY PRESS!

>> Wednesday, April 22, 2009

MouseVox Vintage was featured today on The Budget Babe! I love how they saved the post just for Earth Day because if there's one thing I truly stand for it's loving, respecting and taking care of the planet. Yay!

On this beautiful Earth Day, I hit up a few thrift stores and found so many cute dresses to put in the shop over the next few weeks. I also had lunch at the cutest little Italian market with the best ravioli I've had south of the Mason Dixon with lunch specials for only $3.99. Unfortunately, I got a late start today and missed the specials, so I'll definitely be going there again!

For the rest of the night, it's nesting into the new space and packaging up orders.

SNEAK PEEK!

>> Tuesday, April 21, 2009

All of the lovely vintage pictured above and more are going to be up for grabs in the shop starting tonight at 9PM CST! I'm all moved into my new place and set up for work. Things aren't quite as organized yet as I'd like them to be, but I guess that's to be expected. Moving isn't something I absolutely love doing, but seem to do a lot of. What I do love about moving though is unpacking and re-organizing everything. It's so inspiring!

WE'RE MOVING!

>> Monday, April 20, 2009

70's Vintage Sundress - eBay
Cardigan - Thrifted
Vintage Belt - Thrifted
Tights - Target
Maryjanes - Enzo Angelino

Today is going to be busy, busy, busy! We're moving the MouseVox studio into a new and more comfortable space - everything is packed up and ready to go as of last night and today is going to be a loooong one. There's internet access at the new headquarters, so I don't anticipate too much of a lapse in business. We'll be picking up right where we left off tomorrow with shipping and a bunch of new vintage treats were photographed this weekend to be listed in the shop tomorrow as well. Stay tuned for a sneak peek!

LYNCHIAN BEAUTY - AUDREY HORNE

>> Saturday, April 18, 2009

I've been a serious fan of David Lynch for several years and have always admired his choice of actresses and the female roles in his films for their quirkiness and surreal beauty. There's one Lynchian character that stands out above all for me though and that's Twin Peaks' own Miss Audrey Horne. For one, Sherilynn Fenn (the actress who plays Audrey Horne in Twin Peaks) is such a timeless and classic beauty all on her own, but what really makes Audrey Horne stand out to me is her conservative yet incredibly sexy way of dressing - tight, knit sweaters circa 1950 paired with plaid mini skirts or curve hugging pencil skirts and saddle shoes. While this seemed to be a common theme among most of the young girls of Twin Peaks, Audrey Horne's troublemaker with a hidden heart of gold attitude made these ensembles appear more seductive than the other female roles. And of course, I had to throw in at least one still of Miss Horne with Special Agent Dale Cooper - I really don't think it gets much hotter than these two in the same frame!

WITHERING ELM

>> Wednesday, April 8, 2009

I'm sure I've blogged before about my super talented and sweet friend, Katy. Her jewelry company, Withering Elm, has provided me with some of my favorite pieces and I've been a huge fan of her and her husband ever since we met at a house show here in Nashville about a year ago. If I were going to have the good fortune of being in Louisville this weekend, I would definitely be going to her trunk show. Rather, I'll be puppy dog sitting for my mom as she travels out of town for Easter. But if you happen to live close by or just want to visit the incredibly cute & cultured town that is Louisville, you should go! I promise you won't be disappointed.

As for things in the world of MouseVox, it's been pretty quiet. I've been under the weather for awhile and just taking it easy. I'm feeling much, much better now though and will be spending the day getting the dozens of orders from the past week shipped out. There are a few pieces in the shop right now and I'll be working on getting more up super soon, so be sure to stop by and see what goodies are up for grabs!
