This is my favorite little nook in the new MV HQ. The photograph is of my grandmother & her cousin, the embroidered owl was sent to me from A Minor Thread and the beaded purses, photoalbum & gloves all came from either an estate sale or my favorite antique spot.

I hope all you mamas out there had a wonderful Mothers' Day yesterday. I spent the day with my mom, cooked dinner and watched a movie - very relaxing and good quality time spent.

My mom and I have always been very close. She's a very inspiring lady, a musician, artist and good friend. Really, I couldn't ask for a better one. I'm very thankful to have such a great mom and am so grateful to have gotten to spend the day with her yesterday.

This week, I watched Roman Polanski's The Fearless Vampire Killers for the I don't even know how many-eth time and still can't get over just how gorgeous Sharon Tate was in this film. While her life was cut so tragically short (for those of you not familiar, she was one of the victims in the Manson Family murders), she still remains a true icon in my eyes today.

All of the pieces above and many more will be up for grabs in the MouseVox Shop tomorrow night starting at 9pm CST / 10pm EST / 7 PM PST. In my opinion, this is seriously one of our cutest updates to date, so you're not going to want to miss it! This was also my first time shooting in our new space and I'm very pleased. There's still a few kinks to be worked out with lighting and what-not, but overall I'm a happy gal. I also had an incredibly successful buying trip yesterday and picked up over an additional 100 pieces for our Summer collection - so many adorable 50's day dresses, 60's scooter dresses and much, much more. The future is definitely bright for this little mouse! Yay!

Vintage children's books have always been a great source of inspiration for me. Whenever I'm at a thrift store and I see a book of pages filled with cute illustrations, I have to pick it up. The scans above are some of my favorites featuring umbrellas - perfectly fitting for this rainy, rainy day in my part of the world.
While I'd much rather be curling up on the couch with some green tea, a good book and a cozy blanket, there's too much work to be done. I've been a busy bee today with decorating the new space and I have a pile of vintage fabric to sort through that is literally up to my knees!
I did, however, take a break to give the Mousevox Myspace page a little facelift. If you're a fan of our vintage and would like to be pals, don't be bashful!
